Prologue:

Ship's journal, Day 001:

Mac was my partner, my best friend, and my wife. Sheila McBride, innocent looking redhead with a mean right hook, we met in a bar fight. I don’t drink, but my crew does, and Gary3 tried to pick her up. He was pretty insistent, and she had to belt him - one punch and he was out.

“Congratulations,” I told her, “you just knocked out the scout with the tenderest glass jaw in five systems.”

She eyed me. “Maybe you want to pick up where your buddy left off?”

“Not me,” I said with my best wide-eyed expression. “Gary is always ticking people off, then leading with his chin. That’s why he’s on his third clone now.”

She laughed. It occurred to me that she was the prettiest looking thing I’d seen since going to space. Even if she was a wolfbabe. That was before.

Before she betrayed us all and put a price on our necks.

  1. 'Hey, guys! I've been tracking McBride and either he's discovered some new super-fuel or he's on a suicide mission! We've filled our tanks but not that overgrown lemming! What gives? Wannna make contact and see if we can get an invite to his funeral?'

  2. ((GM Note: For "he" and "his," read "she" and "hers." Your captain's wife, Sheila McBride, is female. And a humanoid wolf. What the captain calls "a wolfbabe."))

  3. ((By the way, one AP to Mark for being the first to log on in character. Now if only he could tell the difference between a Sheila and a Shemale.))

  4. OOC - I think you mean Shele or, when they are not yet known to anyone, Sheun, paired swith Sheune

  5. ((Chet no understand. Must be some more of that Nuzealund language. I'll have to ask Richard Webster.))

  6. Chet, I swear that this sounds like the opening paragraphs to some of my favorite Robert Heinlein novels. LOVE IT! Keep up the good work. :O) Can't wait to join soon.

  7. ((Gee, thanks, Ben. Jump in any time. No other PC seems to have heard your pilot/navigator. ))

  8. Captain to Navigator: Don't lose her, whatever you do. She's still not answering my hails. ...(murmers) ..where Is she taking it?

  9. Emma: Where the sun don't shine, Captain! I'm on her tail but it looks like she wants to lose us. She sure has a neat range of evasive manoeuvres! Just hope she doesn't have a cloaking device. Hnag on! This is going to get bumpy, folks...'

  10. OOC- was just adding French indefinte and deifinte articles as ending to She, as is She-la

  11. ((Now you're just being silly. Everyone knows She-la was a Masters of the Universe cartoon.))

  12. Herr Doktor comes by the bridge to see whats going on, and see if anyone needs medical attention.

  13. Emma and the doctor share a quick glance as she nods towards the captain. And the captain spins about to glare at each of them.

"Ye think your old captain has lost it, do ya? That this is just chasin' a runaway wife?

    "S.I.D. Play decoded I.P. broadcast 77-alpha-urgent!"

At first you're amused at the Captain's habit of addressing the Simulated Intelligence Determination computer as if it were an actual A.I. But when You hear an All-Points. alert stating Duke Norris has been assassinated and naming each of you as conspirators, it's No longer funny

  14. "Himmelherrgottkreuzmillendonnerwetter!!" swears the Doktor. "This cannot be so! We must correct this untrue accusation at once!"

  15. "There's your culprit, Doctor," growls the Captain, pointing at the sensors' vector graphic. "Once she stole the Map, she couldn't let Norris - WAIT!" The graphic blinked out, and Emma is shouting that Sheila's ship didn't jump and wasn't destroyed. "It - just - vanished."

"Forward, blast you, to the spot she left! Blast her, she's beaten us to the door!!"
