First Sighting!

"Granddaughter! Throw the cloak over them! Fast! We ride!"

Why did the old man sound so urgent? And why, when he points his finger out in the field, does a large pile of dung appear where the trench was? (The trench that you may have assumed was your landing spot.)

The cart speeds forward at roughly three times the speed of a normal cart, and you feel no bumps. In the sky, shining a spotlight to the far side of the field, you see

  1. 'Perhaps you would like to tell me about this cart and how it functions,' Emma says brightly. 'I'd like to give my pilot skills a whirl with this little gem. What do you say?'

  2. Herr Doktor wakes up, does a quick physical assessment of his situation. If he still feels concussed he will lie still. In any event he asks "Was ist los? --er-- What is going on?"

    1. ((Roy has received a sticky note, passed down the table from me to Mark to Darrgh (Sid?) to Roy. Hopefully, no one other than Roy peeked at it as they were passing it forward.))

  3. ((It is a wooden cart, though you saw no beast attached to pull it.))

"Granddaughter, why don't you try to explain to them. And for the love of the Sun, keep under that cloak!"

Running her fingers through her kelly green hair, she furrows her brow. "Grandfather is making it go," she says, "His skills are with Movement and his rune is Wind."

  4. Having dragged Herr Doktor onto the cart and taken a few moments to assess the cast on his broken leg in terms of its engineering qualities, L'wisz with furrowed brow says, "Was that a sailing ship we just caught sight of? It looked like an old naval vessel from earth's late 18th or early 19th century. Just where in Sam Hill are we?"

  5. Eolthala pushes the cloak over anyone's head which is popping out. "You are not in Sam's Hill. You are - well, you are here now, and we have waited for you a long time. There was supposed to be four of you, but Her prophecies are not always accurate. We should be at the safe house in less than an hour, and all your questions will be answered then."

The old man laughs. "At least, with the answers that we know!"

  6. Herr Doktor lies still and thinks hard about all this. Is he still concussed? Have his bionic prostheses regained any of their powers? Is he mad? (He doubts this). He decides he will not risk further injury to his brain at this time, and will mind the green haired lady and her grandfather. He pays close attention to what is being said by those around him.
